Children’s healthy snacking brand with a vision of making eating fruit easier for messy little people and on the go parents! Part of Pioneer Foods, the UK’s leading own-label cereal maker, the brand has recently produced a new range of cereals, injecting the ‘wheat biscuit’ with a bit of Fruit Bowl magic.
Fruit Bowl approached Dsquared to design a range of packaging for their new collection of fruity wheat biscuits. The brief was to create innovative cereal box designs for each of the fruit flavours, using the Fruit Bowl characters and designing child-friendly games for the reverse. The designs needed to tie in with the full range of Fruit Bowl products which are well-established in the snacking market, to give them the edge when competing against family favourite cereal brands like Weetabix.
The first stage was to conduct market research across the supermarkets to gain an insight into the competition and product placements. With the range being launched in Tesco prior to Christmas, it was important that the product created an impact amongst current Fruit Bowl customers and parents buying healthy cereals for their children. After evaluating retail packaging in store, we produced a range of initial concepts utilising the strong Fruit Bowl brand name. Once the initial concepts were decided, an in-depth process of changes and tweaking took place before the final designs were produced. We then liaised with the printers to produce the print-ready designs, finalising quantities and ensuring all the specifications were met.
