Junior Front-end Web Developer

Maternity cover with potential for role to be permanent

The ideal candidate is a creative problem solver who will work in coordination with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain our next-generation websites and web applications. You must be comfortable working as part of a team while taking the initiative to take the lead on new innovations and projects.

Essential:

• Minimum of 1 year of coding experience
• Understanding and experience with modern HTML, CSS and Responsive Coding
• Basic understanding & experience with modern Javascript
• Understanding of the basic principles of PHP & MYSQL
• The ability to consider & solve problems, including effectively diagnosing and resolving bugs
• Good communication & teamwork skills
• Willingness to learn & improve development skills, practices and techniques
• Creativity & desire to produce work of a high quality
• A good sense of humour

Desirable: Non-essential but beneficial

• Knowledge of Twig templating
• Knowledge of Tailwind CSS framework
• Knowledge of Bootstrap 4 framework
• Knowledge of Vue.js
• Knowledge of build tools (Gulp)
• Knowledge of Git control for tracking changes
• Knowledge of Craft CMS
• Knowledge of Wordpress CMS
• Knowledge of Shopify CMS

Software:

• Adobe Photoshop
• Adobe XD
• Adobe Illustrator
